Sky Cares!

Sky Federal Credit Union believes in giving back to the communities we serve. When communities come together, the experience brings individuals a rewarding sense of personal worth and creates a place where people are proud to live and work. Not only do we contribute thousands of dollars to organizations in the communities, our employees also contribute many hours of volunteer service.

Donations have been given to local schools, downtown associations, local Chambers of Commerce, humane shelters, 4-H members, and community sports programs just to name a few.

Relay for Life

Each year, our staff participates in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. This year the Sky Super Heroes Team tried something new. We held a Super Hero Carnival – Sponsored by Sky FCU to benefit the Relay for Life. This event took place on June 29th in our Parking Lot. We asked for donations and participation from local businesses. It’s great when we can come together as a community and for a few hours really make a difference. HELPing Hands Committee

This committee puts in countless hours to help those in need. Each year, a Christmas tree is placed in our lobby and decorated with tags containing information to buy gifts for those less fortunate. The committee then wraps all the gifts that have been purchased and delivers them to local social service agencies to be distributed. They also purchase and distribute backpacks filled with school supplies for children in need, Thanksgiving dinners are distributed in the communities, and blankets and toys are given to area law enforcement for situations where a child must be removed from a home to help lessen the trauma. Local hospitals are also given baskets filled with items to help parents who have lost a child.

Blue Jeans Friday

Each Friday, employees are allowed to wear blue jeans to work and they pay $1 for the privilege. Each quarter, all employees then vote to determine which local family, charity, or public service institution will be the recipient of the monies collected.
